The New Testament provides principles and laws of finance that were either not revealed in the Old Testament or else not emphasized.
Gary North

Some Christians think that Jesus annulled all of the laws of the Old Testament. This is incorrect.

Jesus annulled three categories of Old Testament laws: (1) laws of the priesthood; (2) laws governing tribes and families in Israel; (3) laws governing land tenure in Israel. He did not annul the cross-boundary laws, which include the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20; Deuteronomy 5).

The laws of finance are cross-boundary laws. These includes the laws governing debt.

I have written detailed expositions of the principles and explicit laws of finance that are found in the Old Testament. My goal is to provide a chapter on every law. At age 67, I may not make it. It has taken me since 1973 to write a chapter on every passage dealing with economics. I have written about 9,000 printed pages. I am not yet finished.

The material on finances is much more limited. These chapters are both theological and practical.

I am asking you to change one aspect of your life, based on what the Bible requires. I therefore have an obligation to present detailed studies of what the Bible teaches on these matters. A couple of quick comments are not sufficient, given the magnitude of what you are trying to achieve.

I plan to write a detailed, verse-by-verse commentary on both Testaments' financial principles until I finish the project or the project finishes me.
